The Cottonmouth Artist Residency Program
Cottonmouth Dispensary operates one of the only in-house glass art studios in a New Jersey cannabis dispensary. The studio supports a rotating roster of resident artists who produce original work on-site, seven days a week. Every artist in the program has been vetted for technical skill, professionalism, and the ability to engage with an audience while working at the torch.
The residency model is simple: artists get studio access (torch time, bench space, kiln access), retail floor placement for their work, and exposure to a built-in audience of dispensary visitors. In return, they produce quality work, participate in demonstrations, and contribute to the culture of the shop. Residencies typically run 2 to 6 months, and the roster rotates regularly to keep the collection fresh and diverse.
The result is a constantly evolving selection of glass art that you won't find at any other dispensary. Each artist brings their own aesthetic, techniques, and specialties. What's on the floor this month will be different from what's here next month. If you see something you like, don't wait.
Featured Artist Lineup
Our featured resident and guest artist lineup is coming soon. Check back here for artist profiles and upcoming demonstration dates, or follow @getcottonmouth on Instagram to see who is creating live at the torch this week.
Artist Lineup Coming Soon
The studio hosts a rotating roster of resident and visiting flameworkers. Individual artist profiles will be published here as the lineup is confirmed. In the meantime, the studio is live during business hours and you are welcome to watch.
Guest Artists
In addition to the resident roster, Cottonmouth hosts guest artists throughout the year. Guest sessions bring outside talent into the studio for limited engagements, producing exclusive pieces that are only available at Cottonmouth. Guest artists are announced on our Instagram page and through the Cottonmouth Club.
Past guest sessions have featured artists specializing in heady glass, scientific-style rigs, wearable art, and large-scale sculptural work. Each guest brings something different to the studio, and the pieces they produce often become the most sought-after items in our collection.
Interested in Joining the Roster?
The Cottonmouth artist residency is open to flameworkers at all career stages. Whether you're an emerging artist with solid fundamentals looking for your first retail platform, or an established glassblower looking for a new setting, we want to hear from you.
The application process starts with a portfolio review. We're looking for technical skill, consistency, and the ability to produce work that resonates with a retail audience. We're also looking for professionalism, reliability, and a willingness to participate in demonstrations and engage with visitors.
Visit the Studio
The best way to meet our artists is to visit the shop. The studio is visible from the dispensary floor, and artists are usually working during business hours. They're happy to talk about their process, their work, and the pieces on display. You don't need to buy anything. Just come in, watch, and ask questions.
Cottonmouth is open 8am to 9pm daily at 10 E Clements Bridge Rd, Runnemede, NJ 08078. You must be 21+ with valid ID to enter.
